Tuesday's Tricks

The trick was played on me....Grampy failed to tell me this wolf wasn't real. I nearly died of heart failure when I saw it, mom was laughing sooo hard she didn't get a picture of it...thank god!!! Apparently the wolf is suppose to scare off the geese who like to come and "relieve" themselves all over his property. A fake wolf?!?! Who needs that??? What he needs is a GOLDEN, I can get the job done!!!

Poor Kitty

Well I have some sad news to report today, Belle has been injured, and just for the record I had NOTHING to do with it. I knew this free roaming privilege of hers would one day get her into trouble. Not sure what actually happened but she came in the next morning limping terribly, so off to the vets she went and low and behold she has a broken paw!!! The vet thinks she may have gotten caught in a fence while running away from something. I know if I wasn't stuck in this ridiculous crate all night I would have heard her crying and rescued her, ok maybe some thumbs would have come in handy. But none the less I now have to keep my distance from her in case I "accidentally" step on her or play too rough. She is on pain meds and gets to sleep on mom's bed all day long, another privilege I don't have. The word around the house is that Belle is no longer allowed outside, this could definitely work to my advantage!!! Here you can see her broken paw, please excuse the drowsy eyes, she's on pain medsHere I am keeping vigil by her side, note who's on the bed and who's not ..... Here I am on the lookout for whoever did this to my kitty...

Does It Pass The Test???

Well it's been yet another gloomy day here in the Northeast. When is that warm glowing thing in the sky ever going to come back?? Personally I don't mind playing out in the rain, especially when you find some muddy spots to roll around in and make mud angels. Mom on the other hand wishes I would learn to wipe my paws or better yet not go out at all...the nerve of her!!! To make her happy I've been keeping myself busy playing with all my new toys...whats left of them anyways (oops). In my own defense I have to say that some of these toys just don't stand up to my rigorous chewing and shaking. So today I've decided to give a paw's up to a couple of my favorite toys that have passed my test. In order to pass my test the toy has to withstand continuous chewing, tugging, shaking and of course keep me entertained for a good amount of time.
The first one is the Floatie Flappy:
Their slogan on the package says "We make 'em for dogs to shake 'em" and boy can I shake this toy!!! A little word of advice, this toy should be played with outside or in a large open area, I almost shook mine right through the TV. So far it has stood up to my chewing except for the itty bitty hole I accidentally made in it, hope mom doesn't notice. She did say it wasn't a chew toy, I guess I should have listened. The best thing about this toy is that it floats so your family can toss it into the water or pool and you can go in after it. Or in my case you can just wait for it to make it's way closer to the edge, grab it and play keep away!! No matter how you play with this toy, you can be sure you'll have hours of fun!!!

My next toy is the "Flying Squirrel"

Need I say more!!! Seriously, this toy is amazing!!! It's paws are raised, so if you have trouble picking up a Frisbee then you'll love this. Even better the paws glow in the dark so you can play fetch night or day. It 's made for the water in case you want to play drown the squirrel. I never get tired of watching it spin round and round in the air. So for all those times that squirrel taunted you in YOUR yard while you watched hopelessly from your window, this is pay back....real or not!!!

As much as I love my new toys, nothing beats the Kong. I mean who couldn't love a toy that gives treats to you!? If only I could get my family to find the one with the rope!!!

A Great Ending To My Barkday

So to end my barkday my family took me to Especially For Pets and my sisters helped pick out some cookies for me... decisions, decisions... I'll have one of each please....
Here I am in the truck, didn't want to get out cuz I knew it
was the end to my perfect day!!! Little did I know what they had
in store for me...
the most delicious cake, see how patiently I am waiting to just
devour it...

Finally, It Has Arrived!!!!!!!!

It's here....my very First Barkday (whatever that means), and you know what, I couldn't have woofed up anything better than this. I mean all the hugs, kisses, treats and best of all NEW TOYS!!! I could really do without this silly thing on my head but if it makes mom happy....everyone knows when mom's happy....everyone is happy!!
Seriously, how embarrassing, I look like a circus dog!!! I'll never find my one true dog dressed like this, blech!!! Here I am opening my box of toys...
From what I hear, I now have to be watched with my new toys, I get a little carried away with them and tear them up in no time. So along with a great Barkday comes supervised visits, not fair at all, but I'll take what I can get!! Oh, and did I mention... I am very stingy with my toys, I don't bark at anyone, I just like to be alone with them on my bed. It's my Barkday, right?!?! I can do
whatever I want...for one day at least!

The Waiting....

OK, I don't have the slightest clue what is going on around this house today! My sister's keep tugging on my ears and giving me the best belly rubs in the whole world, and saying that my first birthday is almost here. I don't have any idea what this means but if it includes more belly rubs then I am all for it!!! Until then I guess I'll just have to wait for it to get here......still waiting for that birthday thing....I don't see anything coming!! I'm going to have to think of something to make the time go by, and I know just the thing!!!
Playing with Belle!!!!!!!
Mom calls it harassing, Belle thinks it's just plain annoyingCall it what you want...I just want that birthday thing to hurry up and come!!!

My New Chew Toy....Or Not

Uh-oh here comes mom, I'm in trouble now.
I know I'm suppose to be practicing catching the
frisbee but sometimes chewing it is alot more fun
than giving it back.

What a Weekend!!!

I had such a great weekend, my family took me to the Whisker Walk and boy did I have fun!!! I sniffed lots of dogs and they sniffed me. I watched the Blue Dog Frisbee show, those dogs are amazing!!! After watching them I have come to the conclusion that I need to practice my Frisbee catching skills, I'm not that good at it. My dad took me through the agility course, the first few times I was quite pitiful but I soon got the hang of it, my mom said I was showing off but I was having a blast!!! After that I got to cool off in the little pools and drink from the dreaded long snake like thing (hose) that shoots water at me, I swear one of these days that thing is going to give me heart failure. I was so thirsty after all that jumping, I didn't even care. Here are some pictures below, hope you enjoy them!!

Calling All Canines....Beware!!!!

Today I am putting out a K911, I have stumbled upon a very suspicious hole in my backyard and it could be in yours also so BEWARE and be on ALERT!!!

This is just driving me crazy, if I could only just get my head....

I think I'm almost there...

I will stay here all day and night if I have to. I probably should invest in some night vision goggles, though. I'm guessing it's some kind of mole or that darn chipmunk that likes to outsmart me, maybe I should bring in my outside resource, my good feline friend, Belle. Wish me luck!!!

...ooooops!!!!!

Well the party went great last night. My paws are dragging today though, I was up a little past my bedtime.
Today I thought I would share a little bit of advice on what to do when you spot a beautiful flower....sniff it and back away!!!!
As you can see I forgot the "back away" part and took a big bite...oops!! My mom says I'm a real pain in the.......you get the point. Have a great day everyone, I'm going to try my hardest to stay out of trouble.

The Arrival...

Well it was the moment of truth, I had no idea what to expect, were there any other dogs that I would have to share my space with, compete for attention with?? As much to my surprise absolutely not, I knew I was this family's first dog as soon I stepped paw into the house. It was immaculate inside and out, no scratches or fur on the floors, the windows were sparkling and not a spot on that lawn....I couldn't wait to get my paws all over this place... did I mention there was a pool?! I thought to myself, could it get any better than this??? And out comes the cat, she didn't look very impressed with me at all, but I knew if I played my cards right, we could be great friends. And we are...kinda...when she's in the mood she tolerates my sniffing every inch of her fur until I get her claw lodged into my muzzle and that awful sound bellows out of her, I know it's time to back off. I'm sure that one day she is going to need me in a desperate situation, whether it's another cat, squirrel or bird, I will be there to back her up and of course give her some of the credit!
The first few nights were rough, couldn't understand why these people were making me stay in this crate all night long while Belle (the cat) had free roam of the house?! Needless to say, 11 months later I am still in the crate at night (only a much larger one) and Belle is still roaming free. My housetraining went very well, I never took a liking to those pads, I much rather go fertilize the beautiful oasis in my backyard, never in the same spot of course, that would be too easy on my family. I can promise you that when my owners were landscaping their yard, the thought of one day owning a dog never entered their minds. They can't have many complaints though, I have yet to drink from the toilet bowl, never have I chewed the woodwork or ate through any walls. So since I've been completely honest I might as well fess up to some of the things I have done over the past year, like the time I dug up the Hibiscus bush and ran across the yard with it in my mouth, or the time when I thought I was helping out by digging holes in the gardens and the time when I thought the Wii remote was my new chew toy. I assumed anything left out in plain sight was fair game...boy was I wrong. Oh and I can't forget the day when the baked potatoes just came out of the oven, they smelled so00 good that I decided to do some counter surfing and helped myself to one, another dumb choice, I spent some time in my crate for that one. Did I mention that I passed Kindergarten Puppy Training with flying colors (I couldn't have done it without my big human sis, Kailey) and I also won an award for Cutest Face at the Pet Rock Festival, surely all these accomplishments out weigh my puppy antics!!! All in all it's been a great year with my family and for some reason I can't help but feel they would completely agree!!! Can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us!!!
